UAM is a university with a distinguished record in research. Since its foundation, the development and support of high quality research has been a priority, and this effort has been rewarded by national and
international recognition. Innovation is another aim of the UAM. The university encourages the transfer of research results undertaken in the university, taking those results closer to society and economy.

Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), through its Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation, carries out a wide range of international activities. The programmes are organized and financed mainly through the University's own initiatives in cooperation with other institutions (international agreements), participation in programmes sponsored by the European Union (European Programmes), and by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (AECI: Spanish Agency for International Cooperation), as well as other national and international entities. ERASMUS Academic Networks are designed to promote European cooperation and innovation in specific subject areas. They contribute to enhancing quality of teaching in higher education, defining and developing a European dimension within a given academic discipline, furthering innovation and exchanging methodologies and good practices.

UAM has a long tradition in innovative teaching techniques, focusing on e-Learning analytics in order to develop objective and effective teaching and evaluation tools to its students. The interest of this
university in teaching innovation is supported by its own program of research projects and a wide variety of distance learning courses. UAM group is leaded by Professor Sacha Gómez. His background is in Education, Physics, Computer Science, Psychology and Industrial Engineering. Has 20 years of experience in teaching and has been coordinating innovation projects for more than 5 years, mainly in multidisciplinary environments.

The European university college Association was founded in 2008 to bring together and represent University Colleges and network of Colleges in Europe.

The aim was to exchange experiences and best practices, facilitating the students with new international opportunities.

Based in Brussels, EucA’s ambition is to enrich the academic and professional development for students through non formal and informal activities in the fields of employability, soft skills, international mobility and responsible citizenship.

Thanks to its membership in leading professional associations of Student Affairs and Services as NASPA, EucA offers also services to Colleges’ Directors and Professionals.

Thus they are facilitated in the delivering of the desired learning outcomes for the students through a support in internationalization, best practices sharing, and professional development.

UNIVERSITY OF JYVÄSKYLÄ

The University of Jyväskylä (JYU) is a nationally and internationally significant research university
and an expert in education. The university has 15 000 degree students who together with the adult education students constitute a total of 40 000 students.
The University’s research profile is based on five core fields: 1) Learning, teaching and the learning
and growth environments that support development; 2) Basic natural phenomena and mathematical thinking; 3) Languages, culture and communities in global change processes; 4) Physical activity, health and wellbeing; and 5) Information technology and the human in the knowledge society.


JYU is Finland’s leading expert in teacher education and adult education as well as a major exporter of education. The Department of Teacher Education (which is part of the Faculty of Education and Psychology) educates teaching professionals from preschool to vocational institutions and adult education. It has its roots in the first Finnish-language teacher training college, Jyväskylä Teacher Seminary founded in 1863. In terms of research, the goal of the department is to produce and provide an effective environment for high quality research with international and national visibility and high scientific and societal relevance and impact. Active development of teacher education, its practices and curriculum has a long tradition both within the unit and the University Training School,
which collaborates closely with the Department of Teacher Education.


In the ADeAPTIVE project, JYU’s main focus gamification (IO1). JYU also implements pilot experiments in university courses.

UC LIMBURG

UC Leuven-Limburg (UCLL)  is one of the major universities of applied sciences in Flanders with over 14,000 students 3 departments (Teacher education, Health and social work and Management and Technology) spread over 9 campuses.  The University offers 18 professional bachelor’s programmes and 13 post-bachelor’s programmes, most of which are in Dutch. 

The aim of the University College is to maximize the interaction between research and education and take the students’ goals and wellbeing to heart. 

IUC Leuven-Limburg has five strategic priorities and: Success in education and on the job market, Regional added value, Internationalisation, Identity​.

UCLL focuses on creating an adaptive online environment for highly qualified refugees seeking integration through (social) entrepreneurship. We link the adaptive learning environment to Bloom and Csikszentmihalyi to increase immersion and decolonized, transformative pedagogy to harness cultural differences. Participants are refugees both from different countries of origin and in different host countries.

UNIVERSITATEA DE VEST DIN TIMISOARA logo

Universitatea de Vest din Timișoara (UVT) / West University of Timişoara (WUT) is the main higher education institution and research center in Western Romania. Its community comprises roughly 16000 students and over 700 academic staff. It is a comprehensive university including 11 faculties with their respective departments, as well as a Department of Teacher Training.

The university’s strong focus on quality in an increasingly international and globalized academic world is recognized through its’ position in rakings worldwide.

West University of Timisoara offers students the opportunity to combine theoretical and practical knowledge, in a multi- and inter-disciplinary environment, preparing them to enter a globalized labor market. With more than 5% of the student body being international, the university is intensively involved in processes of internationalization with our faculties offering over 20 study programmes in foreign languages (English, German, or French) at Bachelor, Master and Doctoral level.

On a yearly basis, West University of Timisoara implements over 100 research projects, out of which around more than 30% have a strong international dimension. Fostering a multi- and inter-disciplinary approach to higher education and research, with a clear focus towards the internationalization, WUT has over 380 bilateral agreements fostering exchanges in the Erasmus+ programme and over 180 other bilateral agreements with higher education institutions worldwide. On an annual basis, West University of Timisoara has over 300 outgoing students (studies and placement) pursuing a mobility abroad, as well as over 200 incoming mobility students, organized in the framework of Erasmus+ mobility projects. Also, around 600 international students pursue a full degree programme at WUT, annually. With an estimated increase of 15% in international students numbers for the next academic year, our university is committed to supporting the personal and profesional development of students in an increasingly internationalized academic world. Highly focused on the internationalization of curricula, West University of Timisoara is more and more oriented towards opportunities for graduates’ absorbtion in a globalized labour market.

FUNDACIO EURECAT

Eurecat is the leading Technology Centre in Catalonia, and the second largest private research organization in Southern Europe. Eurecat manages a turnover of 38M€ and 450 professionals, is involved in more than 160 R&D projects and has a customer portfolio of over 1.000 companies. 

 

Eurecat is currently participating in more than 70 EU funded collaborative projects (H2020, FP7, CIP, Life+, etc.). In addition to this wide experience at European level, Eurecat is also a strong player in the various R&D programmes sponsored by the Spanish and Catalan administrations, with more than 160 ongoing projects. Technology transfer is also an essential activity in Eurecat, with 36 international patents and 9 technology-based started-up from the centre. Eurecat R&D, innovation and training activities includes both Industrial and Digital Technologies.
